ILH Representative Kamehameha will play in the Championship Game Saturday in the Na Menehune Reebok Holiday Classic, as they defeat Maryknoll in the Semi Finals Friday night, 60-39. The Championship Game will be at 7:30p at the Moanalua High School Gymnasium.
The Warriors have looked dominant in all of their Tournament games so for – a 37 point win over Kauai, and a 10-point victory over Laguna Beach,CA on Thursday night.
The full court pressure caused problems early for the Spartans and Coach Steve Hathaway. Pressure led to turnovers, and subsequently easy buckets for Kamehameha.
Pii Mins and Kamakoa Downey-Jovanavich and company excecuted their multiple screen motion offense efficiently enough to get the open looks and wear down the Spartan defenders.
Head Coach Jesse Nakanishi will lead his team into the Championship Game agains the host Moanalaua Ne Menehune who have also had a steady road through the tournament.
Maryknoll and Mid Pacific will meet at 6:00p in the 3rd place game.
