Kale Sumner hits a 2-run homerun in the 4th inning to help the Kailua Surfriders score 5 runs in the inning enroute to a 8-5 victory Wednesday over Kalani at Kahala Field.  The Surfriders stay undefeated in the OIA with a 4-0 record.  Kalani drops to 1-3.

Pitcher Jared Tamanaha went the distance for Kailua scattering 5 hits and mixing in off-spead pitches to keep the Falcon bats at bay.

“(Head) Coach (Corey) Ishigo says it’s not how hard you throw but where you throw that counts,” said Tamanaha.

The Falcons actually took the early lead at 4-1 after the 2nd inning and it stayed that way until the 4th.

Ryan Kinoshita and Jared Iha each went 3 for 4 for Kailua.  Jordan Wong was the leading hitter for Kalani going 2 for 3.
